QUIDAM Prime

QUIDAM 3 Prime is the ultimate package for video game developers as it includes QUIDAM 3 Studio features, the export plug-ins for Maya and 3D Studio Max and, above all, licensing rights for the generated 3D models.
With one license of QUIDAM 3 Prime, you can create 3D characters and then integrate them into one of your video games, as long as the models are encrypted.

QUIDAM 3 Prime is the only package including licensing rights for applications.
With QUIDAM 3 and QUIDAM 3 Studio, you can freely create and sell 2D images and animations, but you are not allowed to use the 3D models into applications (unless you have a specific authorization from N-Sided).

Price of QUIDAM 3 Prime: €10500 (V.A.T. excluded).

A special version for "Independent" developers is available at €895 (V.A.T. excuded).
Contrary to QUIDAM 3 Prime that allows to integrate models in one game only, this version named QUIDAM 3 Prime Indie allows to integrate models in an unlimited number of video games!

To be considered as an "Independent" developer, you need to have a turnover lower than €115.000 on the last fiscal year (approx. $156.000 USD).

CATALOGS

QUIDAM 3 comes with an advanced Catalogs System which allows to store and find instantly all kind of elements: Props, Pictures, Textures, 3D Objects, Environments, Lights, Scenes, Morphs, etc.

Natural, powerful and efficient, these catalogs allow to save and select in one click the transformations you made, the poses, the brushes and the textures you created, etc.

QUIDAM 3 will be launched with many catalogs loaded with hundred of new presets: Textures, Dynamic Objects, Props, Scenes, Environnement, Paint Brushes, Lights, etc.

These Catalogs are available with the following tabs, which appear depending on the Studio in which you are work:

  • Morphs: Save all transformations made on the mesh of a character.
A smart SCRATCH system replays morph sequences as if you were playing at a piano. Indispensable and precious to prepare animation sequences and export them, if needed, to another 3D software.

  • Parts: Allows to save the transformation of one given part only, for example a forearm or a foot.
An automatic filter system will help you sort all your transformations.

  • Size: Store the changes that you have made on the sizes of your characters.

  • Poses: Save the poses of your characters. For a better precision, the body poses and hand poses can be stored in separate catalogs (Body and Hand).

  • Skeleton: Accessible from the Edit Skeleton Mode, this catalog allows to save skeletons.

  • Props: Store 3D objects (clothes, props, scenery, etc.).
QUIDAM 3 comes with a large number of 3D objects to enrich your scenes!

  • Bumps: Save relief textures.

  • Textures: Store color textures of characters and objects.

  • Reflect: Store the images used to simulate reflexion on objects (Envmaps or reflexion mapping).

  • Brushes: Available in the 3D Paint module, this catalog store your custom brushes.

  • Also QUIDAM proposes Catalogs that are related to environment elements:

  • All: This tab allows to save and reload immediatly full environments, made with floor, background image, objects, cameras, lights...

  • Bckg: Store the background images used as reference for modeling characters or to transfer a picture onto the texture of a model.

  • Floors: A range of floors.

  • Cameras: Save your customized camera views.

  • Lights: Save lights parameters: colors, positions, etc.

  • RT Lights: Allows to store the lights parameters of the Raytracing renderer.

  • Scenes: Store the 3D objects for scenery.

2D and 3D CONTENT

To help you creating great scenes and models, QUIDAM 3 is loaded with dozens of textured multiresolution objects. Chairs, beds, kitchen sinks, desks, books, painting boards, windows, flat screens, guns, jewels... you will find all you need to build complete scenes!
A multitude of new custom characters join the crowd in the QUIDAM’s characters library.
On top of that, QUIDAM 3 offers much more equipment to your creations with new high resolution textures for all kind of use (materials, skin, hair, coating, etc.), new paint and bump brushes, background and floor images for the scenes, poses, skeletons, camera presets etc.

Professional quality content to enrich your creations!

PAINT

3D Paint

The Real Time 3D Paint module has been fully rewritten with advanced algorithms to be much faster and more accurate.

Adjust Resolution
Now the resolution of the map can be changed when you enter the 3D Paint Module (a new dialog comes in).

Improved Brush Projection
The brushes projection system has been rewritten to ensure better quality strokes.

Sizing and details
In order to get very detailed textures, QUIDAM 3 offers an advanced system for texture resizing.

More Brushes
A large number of new brushes has been added to the new catalog system. You can enrich this brush catalog very easily too.

Color Palette
The 3D Paint module offers a new color palette, very handy to pick a precise color on the fly.

New "TILING" mode
CONTINUOUS and SPOTTED modes allow you to create tiled effects (with or without alpha) in ay orientation, which were until now very hard to do.

External Paint

Use your favorite 2D paint tool to create amazing textures for your characters!

The PAINT module gains a new option to use your favorite 2D software (Photoshop, Painter, Gimp, etc.) without leaving QUIDAM.

With a single click, load in your 2D software the textures of the 3D model. Each time a modification is saved, QUIDAM updates automatically its 3D OpenGL view.

"Among the new features of QUIDAM 3, I appreciate very much the improved 3D Paint and External Paint.
When you combine both of them, your pipeline for working on characters and props textures is seamless and very intuitive. With a single keyboard shortcut, you can switch to your favorite 2D tool and take the best of retouching software such as Photoshop (filters, color retouch...). The image is automatically updated in the 3D view of QUIDAM when you save your modifications in the 2D application.
One of my working habits is to sketch the texture in the 3D Paint and to add details in Photoshop.
The cherry on the cake: the Automatic UV mapping and the On-Model UV Twicking, totally intereactive with the pen (or mouse)!"

Cedric Trojani, Beta Tester

UV

UV AUTOMAP Editor

QUIDAM 3 offers its own UV projection system that, in a few clicks, will add UV coordinates to your imported objects so that they can be painted.

AutoMapping lets you select a projection to apply on the object. You can use the following projection types:
- X Planar, along X axis
- Y Planar, along Y axis
- Z Planar, along Z axis
- Box Mapping (cubical mapping)
- Envmap ("environment” type)
- Spherical
- Mercator ("Mercator" map type)
- Cylindrical
- Implicit (use the initial UV coordinates of the object)
- Restore (use the previous UV coordinates, as they were when the AutoMapping tool was launched)

Efficient and complete, AutoMapping invites you to fine tune the parameters for position, scale, rotation and tile. You can see all modifications in real time!
Different projections can be applied on the different objects of the 3D scene. Simply click on an object to select it.
On-Model Advanced Edition

Modify the placement of the textures directly by clicking and dragging on the 3D model: instead of modifying the model, the texture is deformed!

A very spectacular feature that professionals will enjoy for its accuracy and ease of use. In a few manipulations, a texture with ugly stretching is corrected.

SELF SHADOWS

Realistic Visualization in real time

The Real Time 3D display of QUIDAM gets better again. It proposes Self Shadows in addition to projected shadows.
See in real time the shadow effects on your character for a much more realistic visualization!

Proportions Studio: Apply Proportions to Geometry

Up to now, the way proportions could be modified was tightly linked to the "skinning" data ("skinning" determines how the mesh follows the animated skeleton). In previous versions, when you were retouching skinning weights after a modification of proportions, you were inevitably changing proportions too. Therefore it was very hard to get a coherent result.
From now on, all modifications made on proportions are "frozen". In consequence you can change skinning weights and shape your character as you want without having an influence on proportions.
The creation of characters of any size and proportion is much easier. Giants, gnomes, cartoon heros... A huge leap forward for creativity!

SCRATCH MODE

A smart SCRATCH system replays morph sequences as if you were sliding your finger on a piano keys. Indispensable and precious to prepare animation sequences and export them, to another 3D software, if needed.

.QUI FORMAT Improved

The .QUI format (a proprietary file format of QUIDAM), has been enriched to support more data and to save time in the creation process:

- Now it stores advanced proportions modifications, useful for radical transformations of the characters

- It is also able to store skeletons that have been customized in the Advanced Edit Skeleton Mode.

Edit Skeleton Mode: a new faster method

In the previous versions of QUIDAM, skeleton modifications couldn’t be saved in .QUI files. A “snapshot” of the character had to be saved in .QDM format to keep your model.

From now on, modified skeletons can be stored directly in the .QUI file. QDM export is not necessary anymore. Moreover you can leave the Edit Skeleton Mode whenever you want and go back into other Studios. This new revamped approach offers a much more natural, smoother and strightforward use Skeleton Edition features.
